Meet Jesus
on the
streets.
A Christ-centred street ministry in Calgary — loving the broken, the addicted, the unseen, and the forgotten with the compassion of Jesus. Partnered with the local church. Present on the pavement.
Why we started.
Meet our founder and hear the story behind Namesake Ministries.
It's simple.
Serve others.
Share Jesus.
Our mission is simple: to go out and do exactly what Jesus commanded us to do — love our neighbours.
We are a Christ-centred street ministry made up of believers from many different churches, united by one purpose: to serve the broken, the lost, the addicted, the unseen, and the forgotten with the love, compassion, and gentleness of Jesus.
The Gospel was always meant to move. Alongside our partner churches, we carry the hope of Jesus out of the pew and onto the pavement — meeting people right where they are, with love, humility, and action.
We walk hand-in-hand with the local church, helping bridge the gap between Sunday and the street — reminding people that we serve a just God, a compassionate God, a God who calls us not to look away from suffering, but to step into it with love, humility, and action.
Four commitments.
One body.
Presence over program
We show up on the same streets, week after week. Recovery starts with being remembered by name.
Dignity, not charity
Hot meals. Warm coats. Real conversation. Everyone we meet is made in the image of God — we treat them that way.
The Church, on the move
Believers from 16 congregations, one Body. We come alongside the local church — carrying the hope of Jesus from the sanctuary to the sidewalk.
Christ in the mess
Addiction. Trauma. Poverty. We don't sanitize suffering — we step into it with the hope of Jesus.

"We go because Jesus went. We serve because Jesus served. We love because He first loved us."
The work,
in frames.

Where it
all began.
Emilio didn't plan to build a street ministry, he just decided to do his part. After years of walking with the addicted, the hurting, and the un-housed shaped a conviction: the Gospel belongs on the corners it's most often kept away from.
What started as one man showing up with sandwiches has become a movement of believers from across Calgary, all called to the same street, the same faces, the same Jesus.
